Preparing for your procedure

You will be taken to a trolley or bay in the Day Surgery Unit where you will change into a gown. Your nurse will check your identity and personal details and give you a container for your clothes and personal items. You may be asked to remove any false teeth and jewellery.

When it is time for your procedure you will be taken into the Anaesthetic Induction Bay where you will meet your Anaesthetist and Anaethetist nurse. The Anaethetist and Anaesthetic Nurse will remain with you throughout your procedure.

You will then be taken through to the Operating Room ( while you’re still awake) where you will meet the rest of the theatre team and your surgeon. You will be asked some questions to check your identity.
