In addition to consulting within the clinic, our doctors provide care at Kerang District Health’s Urgent Care Centre, Acute Ward, and Aged Care Facility, allowing patients to receive consistent medical care from practitioners who know them and their health history.
We are also proud to support the next generation of doctors, with several of our experienced senior GPs providing supervision and mentorship to developing medical practitioners.

Skin Cancer Management
Kerang Medical Clinic has several GPs with a special interest and expertise in skin cancer management. From comprehensive skin checks and biopsies to lesion removals and ongoing treatment, most procedures can be performed in our purpose-built treatment rooms, eliminating the need for patients to travel outside the region for care.
Visiting Specialists
To further support the healthcare needs of our community, we host a range of visiting specialists, including:

These specialists also provide surgical services at Kerang District Health’s recently renovated theatre complex, giving local patients greater access to specialist care close to home.

Appointments
Please phone the practice for an appointment, 03 5450 8060, or book via HotDoc either online or with the phone app.
Longer appointments are available if you have more than one issue to discuss.
Please advise reception staff and they will assist you to make the appropriate appointment.
A limited number of appointments are held for each day for urgent on day needs.
Emergencies will be given priority.
Please notify the clinic if you are unable to attend your appointment at least one hour prior to your appointment time.
Fees and Billing Arrangements
All fees are to be paid on the day at the time of your attendance. The clinic does not keep accounts.
Your Medicare claim will be sent by Clinic staff so that your rebate is returned to your bank account promptly.
Bulk billing is available to Aged or Disability pension card holders, DVA gold card, children under 18 and ATSI.
Standard consultation fee is $90 Medicare rebate $42.85
Short consultation fee is $60 Medicare rebate $19.60
Long consultation fee is $130 Medicare rebate $82.90
Broken Appointments
Failure to attend your appointments without prior notice will incur a fee of $50 on each occasion after you have been notified of breaking your first appointment.
After Hours and Emergency Care
For after hours care call Kerang District Health on 03 5450 9200.
The nursing staff will assess you and call the on call doctor if required.
All afterhours call outs will be privately billed per the Medicare rebate plus $50 out of pocket.
For all emergencies call the Ambulance Victoria on “000”.

Test Results
The clinic will contact you if your test results indicate that you require follow up.
Staff will call you to ensure you are seen in a timely manner in accordance with the doctors’ instructions.
Results will not be given over the phone.
Management of Patient Health Information
Our practice is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your health information.
A full copy of our Privacy policy can be obtained from reception.
My Health Record
Ask the staff if you would like the doctor to upload a shared summary of your history to My Health Record.
Your history summary will be available to other health professionals throughout Australia should the need arise.

About Kerang Medical Clinic
The Kerang Medical Clinic is located in the business centre of the Kerang township.
The Clinic is owned and operated by the local public hospital, Kerang District Health.
Several general practitioners provide medical care to patients by consultation at the Clinic and provide Visiting Medical Officer services to Kerang District Health inpatients and Urgent Care (emergency) patients attending the hospital in Burgoyne Street, Kerang.
