Our theatre team will contact you after receiving your completed paperwork to organise a pre-anaesthetic appointment. Pre-Anaesthetic appointments are on set days, and by appointment only. Appointments may be face-to-face, by telephone, or by video-link.

Face to Face Appointments

Face-to-face pre-anaesthetic appointments are located in Theatre/Day Surgery Unit Kerang Hospital – Burgoyne Street Kerang. Please ring the doorbell when you arrive and take a seat.

During your appointment you will have your vital signs taken (blood pressure, temperature etc), and possibly an ECG (sticky dots on your chest) and BMI (height & weight). You will discuss your general health/medical history with the anaesthetist, and the nurse will discuss pre and post-operative instructions and provide you with information about your procedure and regarding services available to you after your discharge from hospital (eg. District Nursing for wound care).

The information gained at the pre-anaesthetic clinic will assist us in coordinating the best possible care for you as an individual.

If you have any questions about your surgery or your stay at Kerang District Health Service, please write them down to ask during your pre-anaesthetic appointment. If you think of any questions after your pre-anaesthetic appointment, please call us on (03) 5450 9253.

Please feel free to bring along a family member or support person to your pre-anaesthetic clinic appointment if you would like.
