Visiting Hours for Kerang District Health
Acute: 10am to 8pm daily
- Two (2) visitors at a time, and up to five (5) visitors in total per day.
- Exceptions are for end of life – always two visitors at any time however numbers of visitors per day are not limited.
- Visitors do not have to be from the same household and no time limit on the length of the visit.
- Non-essential contractors are restricted from entry

Visitors at Kerang District Health
Kerang District Health recognises the importance of family, carer and visitor participation in patient care and the role they can play in the recovery process.
Kerang District Health supports a culture of flexibility in special circumstances through open visiting hours. In special circumstances, visitors are able to stay with their loved one outside of general visiting hours. Visitors attending outside general visiting hours must be authorised to stay by the nurse in charge.
There may be times when visitors are asked to leave or to move to lounge areas to enable staff to attend to a patient’s care or to provide appropriate patient privacy.
Patients have the right to determine who may visit them and when they want to receive visitors.
Patient preferences are respected at all times; patients may at times request “no visitors”.
