Glenarm Accommodation Prices

Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) – $550,000.00

Equivalent Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) – $126.27 per day

Example of a Daily Accommodation Deposit (DAP)

Joe has had his income and asset assessment completed by Services Australia and has been advised that he can be asked to pay the following fees:

  • Base Daily Care Fee of $60.86 per day
  • Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC) of $25.90 per day.

His assets have been assessed to be $100,000.

The DAC can be paid as a daily fee, as an equivalent RAD or a combination of a RAD and DAC.

Based on a DAC of $25.90 per day Glenarm can request the equivalent RAD, being $112,810.26.  Joe must be left with $58,500 of his assets after paying any RAD.  As he has $100,000 in assets he can pay a RAD of $41,500 (25.90/8.38%*365)

If Joe chooses to pay a RAD of $41,500, the DAP of $25.90 will reduce, calculated as follows:

(Maximum RAD Glenarm can charge less RAD paid)*Maximum permissible interest rate/365 days.

($112,810.26 – -$41,500.00)*8.38%/365

The DAP reduces to $16.37 per day.

Note: 8.38% is the maximum permissible interest rate as at January 2024
